Quince tree with black spot

Quince tree with black spot

We have a quince tree that has black spot, we treated it all winter in an effort to get rid of the black spot but have just noticed that the new leaves are starting to get the black spot again. Do you think it is worth keeping the tree and is it okay to use the fruit when they have black spot on them.
Thanks for your help.

The fruit will be fine- just a bit ugly. Out of interest did the tree fruit ok last year despite the black spot? Black spot is a real pain on quinces in humid climates- copper is probably your best bet and even then its more about reducing the symptoms than curing.

Thanks Virgil, yes it did fruit but of course the fruit had the black spot on them as well as the leaves. We have been treating the tree with copper but it seems to be a losing battle. I was thinking about removing the tree and getting another one but if it is more of a climatic problem I think I will just keep the tree we have.
