How do you get rid of prickles in your grass?

There's a spray you can apply but you have to do it before it flowers, I believe. Far to late for this year. Someone on here will tell you the name of the product and you can be all prepared for next year.

The prickles are Onehunga weed. Lawns need to be sprayed around Labour weekend so Lorna is correct it is too late this year. There are a couple of different sprays you can use just ask at the Garden centre. You can spray now, it will kill the plants but the prickles will remain, your lawn will look awful though.

We have a weed digger upper. A long narrow bit of metal with a forked tongue which you apply to base of weed and lift out of your lawn. You can eliminate a large number of prickles and unwanted weeds this way without introducing harmful chemicals that your animals may inadvertently ingest and the operation is painless.
