We got a meyer lemon bush last year. So bascially have had it at least 1 year. it survived the frosts of winter with no cover. I got the other half to apply some lemon food a few weeks back (thanks to the local paper that said this was the time of year to so so). Within a few days it was dead!!!!! Is there anything I can do to revive it, or should I just pull it out. It is still quite small. What do we use to feed them if specialised food is not good enough. We even got this with the tree from the garden centre!! Very annoyed.

Is this lemon in a pot or the ground?I killed a potted one with fertiliser once.
If its in the ground its worth digging it up and putting it in fresh soil without fertiliser.Prune it back and let it rest for awhile.you may find that it regrows from below the pruned part.
*I have a thriving one that survived this treatment.

I picked up a leaflet from Mitre 10 in August of what to do in the garden for August and was reading it yesterday again and there it said for citrus to spread the fertiliser around the drip line and keep away from the trunk. They were refering to mature trees but the same principal would apply to the small trees. THere is a specific amount of fertiliser to be applied relating to the ages of the trees. The garden centre would be able to help with that and may have leaflets specifically for your tree. Good luck with the next tree and we all learn by mistakes and mishaps as well as successes.
