i recently was given a 'nibble' of a delicious slice. the bottom was caramel, then a layer of salada biscuits, then chocolate on the top.
does anyone have the recipe for this?? maybe it is just a case of making the caramel, then adding the two top layers? it certainly was delicious.

I remember years ago trying a custard square that used saladas as the bottom and top. I wonder if the one you want is on the biscuit pack.

Caramel & Chocolate Crackers
100gm plain salted Salada Crackers
225gms butter
¾ c brown sugar
200gms plain dark chocolate
½ c chopped pistachios
½ c dried cranberries

Preheat oven 190

Line 22cm x 33cm shallow baking tray with baking paper.
Place crackers in base without overlaying them (break to fit).
Melt butter & sugar in saucepan over medium heat, stirring well and until it bubbles & is combined.
Pour over crackers evenly & place in oven for 8-10mins or until bubbling all over & caramel is starting to darken.
Remove from heat, sprinkle chocolate over base evenly, return to oven till chocolate is just starting to melt, remove from oven & spread choc out evenly.
Sprinkle with the nuts & cranberries.
Will last for a week in airtight container.

Line a tin with baking paper and half packet of salada crackers.
Melt and boil for 3 mins - 250g butter & 1c brown sugar
Pour this over the crackers. Oven 180 degrees
Put in for 10-15mins.
Sprinkle 350g choc chips over and spread around. Break into bits like peanut brittle. I think its called caramel brittle. YUM,YUM
