Until last weekend I hadn't been to the cinema for a few years and I was stunned at the size of the frozen coke that I saw people buying.
They were bucket sized!
People were heading into the films with a bucket of frozen coke under one arm and a popcorn the same size under the other.
Have they been serving drinks this size for years or is it a new thing?
Surely it means they miss vital parts of the movie with having to go to the loo....
Is the sugar in soft drink message not getting to those who need to hear it?

It seems to have been around for a while, at least in the movie theatres I have been to. The bucket sized drinks and the bucket sized popcorn usually ending transferring themselves to the consumer's own "bucket" and even if some are lucky enough to never seem to gain weight that doesn't mean their insides are healthy.
As one man pointed out, sometimes you cannot save people from themselves.
In Canada we were given tickets to a baseball game. The friend who gave us the tickets advised us to eat before we went. It didn't take long before we realised why.. Throughout the game they were selling huge amounts and huge sizes of hotdogs, burgers, fizzy drinks etc. The sellers were moving among the crowds. To be fair, most bought maybe one or two items but a lot seemed to buy something almost as soon as they finished what they were eating/drinking. It wasn't just sugar filled food/drink and the results were fairly obvious.

I think you need to head to "Gold CLASS" its expensive ($35 per ticket) but worth it for a VERY relaxed experience. I usually go to Slyvia Park and cuddle up on the reclining loungers with a glass of wine (free small pop corn) and a bit of average snack food.
On the drink topic - its hideous that we are subject to those sizes. No wonder everyone is getting obese.
Ive ordered a Medium in places and been gobsmacked by the size - and thats for coffee.
