Going even further back, this, I believe, is the very first thread on Foodlovers on 18 October 2001

Oh, and I think Claire was the first Admin person.
and this is Helen's first post, as far as I can make out, on 19 October 2001, interestingly about shortbread because there's a topic being discussed right now about shortbread.

Re: The first ever Foodlovers post
Claire signs off with " Thanks!
What do you think of the Foodlovers discussion boards so far?
....fast forward to 2016 and wowsers the topics that have been covered have been vast. No one answered that question back then, but I'm sure Foodlovers would have a lot to say now!

Its awesome that the site/forum has stood the test of time and a testament to the great contributors and of course Helen.
Many cafes and restaurants don't last this long!
I love how some foodie things come back into fashion such as back to basic eating, meat and 3 veg (lol minus the potato) or even nose to tail cooking.
I adore looking at OLD cookbooks and ideas. Quite often the old fashioned recipe is the best one. My old edmonds book is the most dog eared in my book shelf, the others look beautiful but as they say, don't judge a book by its cover.

I so agree, Lorna. I took a look at the trademe message board recently and was shocked at the tone of some commenters and frequent nastiness displayed there. This forum is a pleasure to participate in.
