Old habits die hard and I still like my main meal in the evening even though I'm not old; I'm only 72! However, it has long been known that it is better to have your main meal at lunch time and something light in the evening so that you digestion isn't having to work hard during sleep hours. Makes sense to me, but I still can't envisage me tying up my day with lunch time cooking.

Our hospital does this main at lunch thing, and it drives me mad. Poor women, up all night with a newborn baby and they are expected to go from 5pm - soup/sandwich until 8am - breakfast. We now have sandwiches provided for middle of the night snacks, but really, who wants to eat a tuna sandwich in the middle of the night?
