Can anyone advise me on baking in a Miele steam assist oven please ? Desperate please !! I find the supplied recipe book of little use and in three months have not baked anything with a satisfying result. Suggestions or a guaranteed recipe would be most appreciated . Many thanks.

I have two newish (2 yrs old) Miele ovens and have had Miele's for the last 25+ years. Are you in Auckland? If you are you can go to the Miele Centre in Freemans Bay and they run classes on how to get the best out of your oven. Even if you just drop in there and have a chat to them they have a home economist who runs their classes and who knows all about how they work. Their customer service is pretty good if you ask for it. My oven has a steam assist function but is not a full Steam oven which I know you can get. I can't be bothered with the steam function although I have used it once or twice.

I so envy you both. That steam would be a godsend when I bake my sourdough bread.

i went to a class a few weeks ago at the Miele centre

As you can't go, I suggest you get some of their recipes off the website, if there are some that use the feature, and I know it is good for bread they said, you will prob have the instructions in the recpe

If not, email them to send you some recipes and instructions that specifically use the oven you have

Another thought if you have a Kitchen Things branch, they have cooking classes for the Miele and a few others if you need cooking help

I agree with Heather. Are you in Chch? Pop into Kitchen Things on Moorhouse Ave and talk to them as they are great, They also have people come in and do demonstrations so ask them when they are too.
