I have tried various recipes for burger patties, but keep coming back to this one which is made up but hard to get wrong.
750 - 1 kilo prime beef mince
1 egg
good squirt watties tomato sauce
1 tablespoon dark soya sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons maggi beef stock powder
Mix all these together in a large bowl with your hands. Cover and place in the fridge for 1/2 hour for flavours to combine. I dont add any breadcrumbs and find they form well into patties.
I often cook up one small patty to test the flavour, and season more if required.
We love onions in our burgers also but prefer to caramelise them separately and add to the burger when assembling. They give great flavour!
