Dawn, I actually remembered to click on Google while I was in Foodlovers yesterday morning but at 6.00am it had not been embellished at all. Oh, well, they say the early bird catches the worm, but in many cases being early in here doesn't pay at all. I often miss the quizzes that Helen sometimes has going just for one day because I only visit once a day. Such is life.

Marnie, thank you for your very kind offer, but I'm not all that bothered at missing it. It just seems strange that it was so plain at 6am.
Lynette, thanks for that tip, I'll try and remember next time I want to see something that I may have missed! I take it Canada is a holiday or business trip? You'd find the climate a bit different to PNG, I'll bet!!
Isn't everyone just so kind on this forum?

No problem Lorna. We were in Canada on a skiing holiday for two weeks and the climate was like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. It was our fifth trip to Canada but never before has it been -37 at the top of the mountain. On our first day, our ski instructor gave us lessons on avoiding frostbite before we even thought about skiing! Even the locals were complaining how cold it was. But it was worth it as the snow was unbelievable!
We have now thawed out in the warmth of Cairo and are about to embark on a Nile Cruise. Sana Sae'eda.

Oh, Lynette, Cairo is such a beautiful city. I used to live there as a child and while it must have changed a lot, I have wonderful memories. Riding in a gari carriage pulled by horses along the banks of the nile in the evening; climbing the Sphynx and huge cubes of rock at the Ghiza pyramids (can't do that these days, you're not allowed on them anymore); shopping for silver trinkets etc in the bazaar; eating little animal-shaped pastel-coloured sugar treats sold by street vendors; chewing on freshly-cut sticks of sugar cane bought from the little boys who led donkeys laden with cane. I could go on and on with the delights of a remembered childhood.

Hi Lorna. We are loving it. Trent cried his eyes out on the last night of the cruise as he didn't want to leave. He is already on at us about when we are coming back. Some of the archaelogical discoveries have sent shivers up my spine when we walk through the passages and corridors that date back to 2000 BC. And the people are gorgeous. It would have been a great place to grow up in - they just adore children and have been treating Trent like a young prince.

Hello Zeetra,
Yes, you have probably heard of James Darwin's Theory of Evolution and known as a gentleman naturalist.
Heaps on the internet - here's just one link of info [darwin-online.org.uk]
Our history lesson for the day!
Kind regards,
Dawn.

Charles, not James.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets names mixed up. My three adult children correct me briefly and curtly with the correct moniker when I address them by the wrong name, like almost every time I speak to any of them. It's especially bad when addressed with the dog's name. Does anyone else have this problem?

UhOh, I've had James on the brain actually - thanks for correcting me - so much for the history lesson!!!! Hehe!
It's me that's glad I'm not the only one who gets names muddled - thanks for making me feel not such an ass girls. Now I realise why Zeetra asked who James Darwin was?
Kind regards,
Dawn.

I have two sons and invariably call them by the wrong name. I suppose it's better than calling them by their sister's name! Must pop over to Google and see if Darwin is still there, and not forget to check tomorrow for hearts and roses.
Yes!! Isn't it lovely? Roll on tomorrow.
