We are the very proud owners of a beautifully restored 1963 Morris Minor. White with a red pinstripe and red leather seats.
Somehow we have the urge to name it - not something we usually do, but our daughter had a Morris Minor as a teenager and called hers Ernie Morris.
I am wondering about Edna - assuming she is a girl! How would one know? Ha.
Any suggestions?

Ali, you possibly already know that in England they nicknamed them 'Moggie' (but I don't know why). Our daughter has a 1955 model and she calls hers Moggie. It is painted bright yellow and she's very proud of it!!!
Regards,
Dawn.
PS. Another suggestion for yours could be Gladys after Gladys Emmanuel - the nurse who drove a Morris Minor in the old TV comedy "Open All Hours".

Doris and Betty sprang to mind but did in other minds too. Then Freda (just in case a sex change is necessary at some point, although Edna performs nicely on that point too).
Just in case you want to stick with "E" names but happy to consider alternatives: Elva, Esther, Edith, Eberta, Elspeth.
Happy tootling.

We finally decided on a name - after seeing a stylish young woman on tv the other night - her name is Molly - we looked at each other and thought "yes".
So this afternoon we took a glistening Miss Molly for a spin. First stop the petrol station and a scruffy looking barefoot young man walking by glanced at her, did a double take and called out, thumbs up, "I love your car". We hope it gives others as much pleasure as us to see her tootling along! And you should hear that peppy little horn!
Thanks for all your input.

It's interesting that this thread was able to be brought up from 2016 and added to. A lock was put on threads a couple (?) of years ag0, preventing new messages being added to them if they were more than six months (?) old. I remain ambivalent about it's merits; maybe it's gone rusty...
Ah, no, I did a bit of sleuthing and the lock is for anything older than two years or thereabouts.....
