Do you use mascara? I concluded that using the mascara wands that come with mascara is hopeless. For me, they always have too much mascara on them and just result in mess mess mess. What I use is those packs of spare mascara wands (e.g. [www.makeupcollective.co.nz] ). I pull the mascara wand out of the mascara tube, I roll my disposable wand lightly over the mascara wand to pick up a little of the mascara, put the mascara wand back into the mascara tube and do my lashes with the disposable. The disposable rinses out in water really well so I can reuse it many times. My mascara tube lasts for ages longer this way too.

I only use mascara on very special occasions, then I get it off as quickly as I can after the event as my eyes water so easily.
I like the idea of the mascara wands J1 has mentioned, though.
I don't really need to have my lashes tinted but I would like some eyebrows. They are slowly growing back after they all but disappeared a few years ago and are very fair. I don't want to risk having anything permanent done in that area so I just use an eyebrown crayon if I need to accentuate them.

Ok time to 'fess up, I get an "eye trio" once every four weeks, eye lash tint, eye brow shape and eye brow tint. If your eyebrows are fair then that's a great way to get them looking more noticeable but also natural. If you don't like the effect it gradually fades over a month or so, nothing permanent. Given that I'm often trying to look awake at 4am on night shift it's a god send.

Oh Stephanie, I can add to that, and that are the fast disappearing eye lids, getting hidden under sagging brows. Hate it! Has anyone had a brow lift done or the excess skin removed?
I only use mascara for 'special' occasions as my eyes water so easily nowadays. B***** this getting old business!

That book got excellent reviews and is on my to read list. And to be honest, there are worse things in life than body bits going south.

Talking of eyebrows, I don't usually take much notice of adverts in magazines, but this week I happened to notice this one [www.wunder2.co.nz] which started me thinking 'will I or won't I?" I do the same as Marnie for her eyebrows and fill-in the spaces but what I liked about the advertisement was the part that it said it lasts, like for days, and I thought how nice it would be not having to titivate with my eyebrows every time I put make-up on. Then I thought I'd need a good sized tube of remover for when I get too slap-happy in a hurry (which happens). So then I thought I could hire an eyebrow make-up artist on a permanent once weekly basis to give me that perrrrrrrfect wunderbrow shape every time and I'd really be home and hosed! My niece, early 50's, has her's tattooed and they look lovely all the time, but I'm not game enough to have that done! No harm in dreaming, but maybe I'll just stick with my colouring-in pen.

Dawn.
