I LOVE these things. Having recently discovered them, Ive gone a bit crazy!
I have my pictures hanging using them, I have the kids caps and hoodies hanging off the hooks, I have my broom clipped into a command hook system, my keys hang of one and I recently purchased a shower caddy with waterproof Command hooks.
No more hacking into the wall for me!!!
Have you discovered them too?
Are they any command hook things I need?

... I've used them for a number of years and never had an issue with taking them down. You do have to be very careful to only pull the adhesive tab vertically and stretch the adhesive off, if you just pull it off the wall it will certainly remove paint and everything else. Awful luck that that happened to your friend, Noeleen! The worst I've had happen is the pull tab break off before the adhesive is fully removed, I've then had to carefully use pliers to peel a new tab to pull.

I have one for my dressing gown on the inside of the wardrobe door, but I do think you have to be cautious with them as I haven't found they live up to their claims with regard to how much weight they support. I had to upgrade to a hook that was for a weight way in excess of my dressing gown because the correct-weight one I had gave up the ghost. With a dressing gown this was no drama but I would hate to think of it happening with a glass-framed picture!

The instructions regarding removal of those hooks is not to be relied upon. I followed them very carefully when removing one and it still pulled off a piece of the wall-paint sligtly larger than the area it was stuck to. And yes, Carolyn, I had the same problem as you. I thought perhaps it was because the paint on the door was gloss, therefore making it harder for the hook to 'stick' once it had some weight hanging off it

I am reminded of a similar product that we used in a new house about 20 years ago to hang pictures and mirrors. We followed the instructions to the letter and were careful to be well within the suggested weight limits. However upon arriving home from a summer holiday soon after when the house had been locked up for about 10 days, we found several items on the floor smashed to smithereens. I guess they had succumbed to the higher than usual temperatures inside the locked up house although nothing on the instructions alluded to temperature limitations. ...and who knows it might have been going to happen anyway. So back to making holes in walls for me - I would never trust anything else.
That said, I am sure that technology has improved in the intervening years.

Barbara Anne
