On my mission to grow as many edibles as possible I am looking at planting/training a grape up the two posts of the balcony and then across the cross beam to meet in the middle. Is this possible? Or do grapes not like to grow quite so high? It is probably about 3 metres high. Also, how much of a footing/soil area do the grape vines need?
