Transplanting Perennials

Transplanting Perennials

I'd meant to shift a couple of perennials that I had planted too closely together. I had cut the died stems off in late autumn and promptly forgot in winter to transplant them. Today I discovered that they are coming away again . Would it be risky to move them now? I don't want to lose the plants as they were given to me. Your advice would be appreciated. I would also like to shift a couple of Heuchera if it's not too late. I am in Central Otago and spring is definitely on its way down here although a few very cold nights are on the horizon.
