1 off Food experiences?

Hi All

A few years ago I went to sky tower(Auckland) and had their help yourself breakfast. There were all the classics with wheetbix, cereals, fruit and creams/yogurt to spaghetti/bacon/baked beans / eggs/ sausages/ fried/ baked potatoes etc…
But
1 thing that changed the way I look at a paticular food was tomatoes……yes I have had a number of times eaten tomatoes on toast..cooked/sliced/whatever.

But for the 1st time I experienced the whole tomato cooked (Baked…basically heated right through) whole sitting next to the piece of toast with an egg on the toast.

The tomato is looked on as an ingredient/additive more so than a fruit that you would enjoy of and by itself.

Has anyone else had this experience with other foods?

John

Yes with mushrooms, I had always eaten them in stir fries or sauces but then had whole grilled portobello ones about ten years ago, which I was nervous about, but ended up really enjoying them.

While I do love tomatoes cooked in things, and raw whole, I am not keen on them cooked whole, if that makes sense.
