Wild salmon

Wow - now I know what all the hype is about. We had wild sockeye salmon for dinner tonight and the flavour is unlike any salmon I have had before. And the colour! It was such a bright red that I thought it was still raw after panfrying for a minute on each side. It wasn't until we ate it and the way it gently flaked that we realised that it was cooked but still bright reddish pink.

Did you catch it or buy it?

We bought it at the supermarket but are currently in Canada so don't know how readily available it is in NZ. Some places may import it.
