Hi there,

Now I have eaten my fair share of these things but have never had great success in storing them.

Can anyone tell me what the best way is to store these?

Much appreciated

Those tupperware containers are great. The boxes have a plastic 'mesh' tray that sits on the bottom of it so your vegies are lifted up off the bottom a bit and vegies last for ages in them. You can also get something similiar just for lettuces, a type of bowl with a domed lid.

You must have a salad spinner. These are quite cheap, available from my NW Supermarket.
I wash and drain my Lettuce, then spin it dry and put it into a plastic bowl with an air tight lid.
Lettuce keeps crisp for days doing it this way.

Cheers,

Zee,
I read somewhere to pop in a piece of silver cutlery into whatever container you are storing lettuce in. I tried this last week with a curly leaf lettuce, with great results, we were away for 3 days, and had for tea last night, and it was still perfect.
I also agree with Beverley about spinner. With the left over lettuce, washed and spun, and put into snap bag, again with spoon.

Will keep you posted over the next week.

Carol

Follow up on silver spoon.
Lettuce is still crisp!
Not using that particular lettuce, as I want to see how long it last!
