I think it varies through different countries. I say RAW-tee. A friend from Fiji says ROTT-ee.

I say wrotee but realise that having said Peter bread for all these years, apparently it is in fact Pit-a, so I obviously don't know that much.

I've always heard it pronounced as roti with a short "o" as in Row-ti. I think the accent can make it sound differently to our ears.

I say roe-ti. Google the word and see if you can find a YouTube of an Indian making the bread, and see how that particular person says it. But nothing is definitive these days and the New Zealand accent makes vowels sound very different to "English as she is spoke" in England so can imagine what it does to any other language. And I'm not belittling the Kiwi accent, that's just how it is!

The 'R' is rolled if you're pronouncing it correctly.. almost with a 'D' type sound..
