could someone advise me as to what type or brand of white chocolate is best used for cakes or biscuits

Sorry cant be of any expertise but I have used the generic white choc buttons before in choc chip cookies and they worked well...

I always use Whittakers.

I use generic white chips for baked items like cookies, but if I was making something a bit more "luxury" I'd go with Whittakers as well. I find it is usually quite clear in the recipe what is required.

Thank you all for your suggestions on white chocolate.I got confused when the cake recipe asked for 1 and ahalf cups of white chocolate about 1.5cm big.I havnt for years made cakes or biscuits but i now have time in my life to have a go.I will buy a block of whittakers and break that up.I am now confident to buy that block .Thanks again
