Lending out Cookbooks
June 09, 2015 05:55AM
Before having access to a computer I collected many cookbooks over the years.I really enjoyed the Australian Womens weekly books, the soft cover series. I think they may still put them out but I no longer buy them.I have quite a few of them but one in particular I can't find.I obviously lent it out and it never came back.I have written the recipe that I love to make in my own cookbook. It is called Chinese Beef and in brackets I have written (w.wkly Best ever Recipes).I am after the photo of the finished dish.I have forgotten how it was presented. If anyone has the book could you please show it to me somehow and I could print it off.Thanks.

Marylew I have the recipe book and here's the picture of Chinese Beef. I haven't made this particular recipe but it looks pretty good.

Dawn.

Oh Yes, we can tell how old everyone is by the cookbooks we own. I, too, have that book in my collection.

A pleasure to be able to help you Marylew.

Stephanie, well that's three of us and there's bound to be many other Foodlovers on this site who could own up as well!
Regards,
Dawn.

Oh yes, I own up, too. I've sorted out and given or thrown away some that have practically fallen to pieces. I have typed out favourite recipes from those as I just know that as soon as the book has gone I would be looking for one of those recipes.

Not sure if I have that one, but I have several of the WW books, I remember cooking a lot from their dinner party ones for our engagement party.

I've still got 7 of what used to be an extensive collection of the WW cookbooks. I 'lent' most of them to my youngest son some years ago when he was raising his two girls single-handedly, and unfortunately they were lost in the Tapu floods of 2000 when the house he was renting was inundated. He lost everything, including his car. Still, he and his family were, thankfully, able to get out of the flooded house although it was in the middle of the night.
