I'm thinking about what to serve as starters for Christmas day.
There will be about 28 people, including children; some are teens, with ravenous appetites. The eating part of the day will be spread out.
The oven will be in use for the mains so i intend taking finger food type of things that are cold, look attractive, are enjoyable and reasonably quick to prepare or can be prepared ahead. Ideas that include fruits and vegetables would be a welcome addition.
I don't want to fill them up so they don't enjoy the rest of the delicious meal
Thanks for sharing any ideas.

Gravalax is always lovely and on our Xmas table every year
From a veg perspective if you take Lebanese cucumbers and peel in sections, and then slice them into rings about 1/2 inch thick. They can be topped with a herbed cream cheese or hummus (can use a piping bag to make them pretty), and top with half a cherry tomato for a bit of a Xmas look. You don't have to worry about crackers going soggy, using cucumber as your base

These little veo frittatas might be yum at room temp Marnie, and perhaps to cut down on the work, make it in a slice tin rather than individual muffin size. And you could probably make them the day before.

My Dad always makes a massive seafood platter with Prawns, Mussells, Salmon, crackers, bread - always looks amazing and fresh and summery.
Other starters we have are Pigs in blankets (breakfast sausages wrapped in bacon) from the English man
Fruits - watermelon, grapes, nuts, and cheeses

Xmas cheese logs, you can make them as a Xmas tree or even a pinecone, they look great and liked by all due to the cream cheese factor.
Mini sausages wrapped in bacon is always a winner at ours as is BBQ mussels. One year I did them with an an amazing thai red curry sauce, delicious.
Fruit/cheese sticks, retro but easy colourful finger food. Half a strawberry, a slice of banana and a grape looks just like a Santa, fun for the littlies.
