What do you do with Chicken Tenderloins? I stood in the supermarket with a packet of fresh tenderloins in one hand and chicken boneless skinless thighs in the other. Both were cheap but I chose the thighs because I didn't know how to cook the tenderloins. What part of the chicken does the tenderloin come from and where can I use it?

A chicken tenderloin is from the underside of the breast and is very tender, fatless and lacking in flavour, even from a free range bird. I wouldn't bother with them as thighs have so much more flavour.

If you want to cook tenderloins make them into kebabs - cut each one in half, marinate for a few hours in something flavoursome like Ras al Hanout with salt and olive oil, thread on to skewers and grill on the barbecue.

I often use tenderloins! I marinate them in a decent quality oil and then will sprinkle over dukkah, or Cathedral Cove Macadamia Dukkah. Leave to marinate for a few hours or so, and then put them either on a BBQ hotplate or in a pan. They are beautiful - or so we think

I like tenderloins as part of a Chicken Caesar Salad. They are quick to cook as Irene posted.

Unpopular opinion alert! I don't like chicken thighs, so use the breast (and attached tenderloins) for everything. Like others have said, it's how you marinate them -- and there are many, many ideas out there. Don't overcook though or they will become dry. They can be a convenient cut for quickly slicing for a stir fry as well. I don't buy just tenderloins as I have to cook for a hungry husband and two hungry teen boys, so I just buy breasts as they are a bit more economical.

I don't marinate chicken loins. I flour, egg and crumb with a smallish amount of panko crumbs scrunched up with my fingers and a goodish amount of sesame seeds and parmesan or pecorino, then shallow fry til golden brown. I like mine with plain lemon wedges or a minty or coriander, cucumber raita and rice.

I do the same as KONE, I breadcrumb and shallow fry. They are very tender and a good size for kids or small eaters. I usually pair them with a crunchy salad, or asparagus in season, or sliced , cold potatoes

Thanks everyone, plenty of ideas for uses.I have only just noticed them being on special quite regularly at the supermarket and they are quite cheap.Because they were on special as well as boneless, skinless thighs I chose the thighs but I can see the tenderloins coming in handy. Thanks again.
