‘Sticky’ raisins

For heavy fruit cakes I have always used the large raisins that came in a block and chop them up. I have not seen the blocks of raisins in the supermarket for years — says how long since I last make one of these cakes!
Does anyone know where one can get these or what the best alternative is? I note that the variety of traditional dries fruits has reduced a lot presumably reflecting demand.

Hmm, well, not answering your question exactly but my recommendation would be to get the dried fruits individually (from packets or bins) because those cake fruit mixes you can buy are usually full of fake fruit made from sugar and gelatine and usually the only real thing in them is the sultanas/raisins, for which you're paying a ripoff price..

I've seen muscatels at Moore Wilson here at times, on the stalk, not in packets though. Although, these are available online... [pregofoods.shop]

The muscatels on that pregofoods website are in a Sabato bag (200g for $22.50). So if you go to Sabato, you get this:
Table Top Australian Muscatel Clusters 200g bag $19.90
Table Top Australian Muscatel Clusters $97.90 per kg
Table Top Australian Muscatel Clusters 4kg box $390.90
