My friend has decided to make tiny melting moments and present them in jars for Christmas. She asked me for my thoughts today as she did a trial run at the weekend and they spread when baked.
I don’t have any suggestions for her - does anyone of my Foodlover friends know what she could do?
Thanks

I have used the Edmonds Cookery and Dame Alison Holst recipes with great success. I've also seen some recipes which almost melt the butter which I don't think would work so well. What was your friend's recipe? This from a few years back may be of some help. [forum.foodlovers.co.nz]

Interestingly I made a double batch of yo yos yesterday and decided I wanted baking powder in them. Most recipes don't but I think some baking powder makes them a bit lighter and puffier than biscuits without.
Any thoughts?
Also I decided to flavour the filling and in the absence of freeze dried passionfruit powder (love that flavour) I put in some strawberry powder. They are delicious.

I've really lost my sweet tooth. I used to avoid making yoyos because I loved them so much and found them hard to resist - it was the custard powder that particularly enamoured me to them. But now the thought of their sweetness is offputting to me Sometimes I really miss desire for sweet things... ....knowing how once they were so delicious....
