I am doing the entrees for Christmas lunch/dinner. I don't want to do anything to spoil the appetites for the main course and my daughter has suggested we do antipasto platters. I am thinking mini tomatoes, mini cheese balls, mini asparagus rolls, olives, radishes type of thing. I didn't want anything that I might have to go to Nepal for some fresh yak milk but I hope some of you very clever people might have some ideas to make it less than ordinary. The ages will be from 12 upwards.

Get some little red tomatoes slice a little of the top off & pop a little cream cheese on it put the top back on & add a tiny leaf of basil. If you had time you can take a little of the inside of the tomato out but not necessary. Squares of watermelon with a little goats cheese on top, pomegranate seeds & a leaf of mint.

I'm doing an entree platter of nibbles, little yorkshire puds with beef, creme fraiche and onion marmalade (puds made in mini muffin trays), mini corn fritters with an avocado and lime salsa, and prawn skewers. That way they will have something to nibble, but hopefully not too filling, before the main event. I'm catering for ages 13-85, two of whom have special needs so can't go too exotic as they won't even try stuff they aren't familiar with.
