What do you do with your dishcloth?
A lot of people hang it on their taps or leave it in a ball on the bench I guess.
I like to hang mine on something so it gets aerated and dries out, which helps prevent bacteria.
I used to hang it on the taps but it was always in the way when you wanted to use the water.
For years now I've hung it on a small paper towel holder (like this [www.kmart.co.nz] ), which just sits on the bench by the tap. It's very handy and has the least problems compared to other ways I've considered.
Some other ways of hanging it:

I use microfibre cloths and it lives in a ball next to the tap. No room in my tiny kitchen for anywhere else, really, and I get annoyed with it hanging on the tap too. I get a clean one out twice a day though I hate the idea of them sitting and marinating in themselves.

I use old facecloths as dishcloths. Love the toweling for wiping up and cleaning.
I never dry mine on the tap or bench.
They go to the wash after each washing up session and a fresh one is brought out of the drawer.
I am always mindful of bacteria growing in damp and warm situations.
We are all different

If left hanging it would get wet. The cloth is in frequent use and sits on the draining board when I use the sink. I hang it up when I am done. By the way, I would love one of those huge butler’s sinks but my husband put his foot down because if something heavy fell I to it he thought it might get damaged.

Yes, we were building so I was able to stipulate what sink I wanted. I like a workable stainless steel bench area for at least part of the kitchen bench area so my kitchen sink is part of this and therefore stainless steel as well (the ss bench just seamlessly incorporates the sink). CarolynC, yes, that's exactly the main reason for the sink size - it easily fits oven trays, roasting pans, etc. It's 51cm across, 36cm from front to back and 17.5cm deep.
