Asparagus cooked al dente and drizzled with the following dressing
Equal parts of:
Liquid honey (or melt it in the microwave)
whole grain mustard
EV Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Shake together in a jar
I don't refrigerate any left over dressing as the olive oil and honey solidify
Oh my goodness, I cant get enough of Asparagus at this time of year.
I do love it wrapped in streaky bacon and I cook it in my little bench top oven, till the bacon is crispy and asparagus is still crunchy
How do you like yours?

Early in the season it is so precious that we have it simply: boiled until al dente, served with cultured butter or ev olive oil.
Later on I will char it on a ridged grill pan and serve with curls of vintage gouda, or toasted walnuts or feta.
It makes a good risotto.
For a Chinese meal I will stir-fry it with ginger, garlic and soy sauce.

Love it just simply cooked until perfectly al dente, served with butter and salt/pepper, or home made hollandaise sauce. I often have it for breakfast as dippers for a poached egg. It is my favourite vegetable, and every year when I see it for the first time I treat myself to a few spears to have while DH isn't home (he doesn't like it!), no matter what the cost!

JJ I think that recipe looks lovely, but like Lynne2 I'm not sure the fennel frogs would suit the recipe, also not quite sure where to get them? The fish man? The vege man? I wonder how they become fennel frogs, do they eat the fennel, or are the stuffed with it, or bottled with it? Hmmmmm.

I made this recipe the other night, bloody lovely it was too. I didn't have any cashews so added a handful of mixed roasted seeds tht I had left over from another recipe.
