Hi RUby
There is a recipe I use often which is quick and easy. Check Allyson Goftons web site www.eCook.co.nz and there is a peppered steak with mushrooms which is really quick and easy but tasty.
I often use rump steak for making pan casseroles where everything is put in the pan together.
Hope this helps you.

I cook it normally on the griddle or grill then pour over a cheese sauce
made by putting grated cheese and either wine or sherry in a basin over a pan of water and stirring. The trick here is gentle stirring all the time.

Ruby...try this...get a piece of foil onto which you place a bed of sliced onion and a couple of knobs of butter....put your steak on top and season with pepper...a drizzle of worchester sauce...garlic....and whatever takes your fancy....wrap up the steak in the foil and place on to a flat baking dish...bake at 180c for about 20 mins max....you can score the steak first if you like...cheers Garry

Stroganoff is very quick and easy. Saute some finely chopped onion (and crushed garlic if you wish) in a little butter, remove from pan and put aside. Lightly saute some sliced mushrooms in same pan with more butter; remove from pan. Slice rump across the grain into strips, saute 3-4 minutes over medium heat, return mushrooms and onions to pan, stir to mix, lower heat then add tomato paste and sour cream mixed (about 1tbsp paste to 3/4 cup sour cream); add s&p to taste, and heat through gently. Serve over flat noodles or rice.
