Is anyone affected by this?
Its when the power company VECTOR, limits the heating of hot water in times of demand. Apparently some areas on Aucklands North Shore still do it. I think Im in one of them as every winter the hot water doesnt seem as hot.

Its really really annoying.

What can be done???

Switch to a gas hot water heating system. Otherwise you're at the mercy of the power company. I see in your other thread that you're renting, so that option is out.... really there isn't anything you can do :/

Vanessa, phone your electricity supply company and ask whether you are affected. If so, they may have other advice or options for you.

I might be completely wrong about this, but I always thought the water wasn't as hot in winter because the lower ambient temperatures (I live in the South Island) cooled it as it ran through unlagged pipes from the cylinder to the tap.

Hi again, Vanessa. This may be of interest to you.
It would have taken me too long to give the possible explanation within this posting.
