Steel wool [if you can bear it] will get rid of the rust if you are patient.I never use soap when washing my baking tins as I think it makes cakes stick.Put them in a warm oven after you have finished with it to dry them completely. After use clean thoroughly again and dry in the oven every time.Works for me.

You could line with baking paper before you use them.

Use dry steel wool to remove the worst of the rust. Then rub baking soda and white vinegar all over with the steel wool. This will clean the metal to a far better usable surface. I only have old bakeware, what I didn't own from when I started cooking 24 years ago, I sought off trademe. I have managed to get some great bargains.
