I bought a cast iron pan from Briscoes fo $11 a few years ago.
It's fine. It has a metal handle so I can put it straight in the oven. It's fairly 'coarse' iron, but it seasoned up well and aside from feeling uncomfortable about the Chinese miners vs $11, I'm not going to pay for Le Creuset.
