Here I am... December 17, 2004 05:52PM |
Hello everyone,
I'm so sorry I haven't been around for a while and I had no idea that I'd even be missed, it's so sweet of you all. I was really surprised, and touched, to get an email from Lisa this morning.
I've been very busy with visitors off and on, and just haven't had the time to get on to the pc, and now with Christmas fast approaching, I'm in a spin. As I told Lisa, I have quite a few guests over the festive period, and am caught up in the pre-Christmas panic and rush to get everything done. I probably put up far too many Christmas decorations, which is very time consuming, but at last the house is all twinkly and sparkling with lights and trees etc. Do you all put up Chriatmas trees?
I try to imagine you all over there in the sunshine, as our forecast is for snow over the next few days and although I do love the winter, and snow, I just hope we don't get too much of it just yet, as living here in the Chiltern Hills, we can get stuck sometimes, and I still have the bulk of my food shopping to get, as well as a few more Christmas gifts.
Anyway, I have one more relative to visit this weekend, and then I shall try to catch up with all the threads on here, I expect I shall have to spend many hours doing that, but how relaxing! (Especially as I have just made eight dozen mince pies...all for other people!) I still have all our own baking to do so I shall be glad of all your tips and recipes I'm sure!
Well, after probably boring you all to death, I shall shoot off now and do some more wrapping, but I wanted you to know that I really appreciate your concern and I shall try to do better from now on, lol!
In case I don't post again I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

Hi Elaine,
it's nice to hear from you. You have been missed. Yes, my son Ethan is in charge of putting up the christmas tree - it looks lovely (good enough to eat). I like the lovely snowy scene above - have just heard on the radio that the deep south is in for more snow to 500m (a white Christmas perhaps). Up here in Auckland it is a wet grey day. Christmas day is looking dodgy - we are planning to go to the botanical gardens for a lovely hot summer picnic? Wishing you and yours and wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year

i soooooooooooooooo would love to have a winter Christmas one day. Perhaps we'll all go to Holland one day for a nice cold Christmas (I dream of white, but I'm often told it's usually bleak, grey and drizzly - not quite what I had in mind!).
I am so looking forward to Christmas - Aidan is 2 1/2 years old so it's the first Christmas where he has some idea of what is happening. I took him out last week to look at the Christmas lights on houses - he marched up and down the streets in his PJ's clutching Tigger and he had put his Christmas hat on. Looked very cute (biased mother of course!), He is keen to do it again so Rob might take him out.
He likes the tree and "I Need presents".......oh dear!
Enough waffle from me. Hope that everyone is enjoying the buildup to Christmas.
Cheeers, Wilma
