Christmas in Summer December 22, 2004 09:17PM |
We have been in N.Z. now for 30yrs. and I still can't get used to Christmas in Summer, (if you can call this Summer) It's the only time I have pangs of homesickness, Christmas in Winter with dark nights, when you see the Xmas lights, Summer just isn't the same, you don't get the same atmosphere, after 30 yrs. you'd think I'd be used to it!!! Merry Xmas everyone.

Sorry about that Lynda. How do you think we all feel about winter weather in summer. I think it is so depressing. We had very little summer last summer. I guess the ozone is giving us what we deserve. I hope everyone has a happy christmas. It looks though we will be confined to the indoors.

Iwas in the UK in 1976, and during the summer the temperatures were so warm it felt like all the world to me like Christmas, so I know how you feel Lynda. Then when the winter hit and it was actually Christmas, I felt terribly homesick, and those were the days when you actually had to pre-book overseas phone calls at Christmas.

Lynda, I spent 6 Christmas' in Scotland in the 80's and I know exactly what you mean. I have fond memories of those times, the people, the gorgeous snow (not the slush). It was truly special. I would swap that in a minute, but however need to put up with my lot here. At least while I have my marbles and can remember..........I can reminise!!!!
