Canapes

excuse my ignorance here, but better to ask and be thought ignorant, then keep quiet and confirm you are ignorant... anyway, how do you correctly pronounce canapes - is it can-a-pays???? Through work I am selling wedding packages which includes canapes for the wedding couple, and I always stumble over the pronunciation.
can my fellow foodies help me please ?:-(

You got it Irene. The "e" at the end has an "acute" (') above it to indicate the quality or length of its sound, as in cafe'

French word Irene - canapé - as in my own name - Renée (which also is French)!!
