Re: Vanilla beans/pods - 1 year ago
Did you ever find a good place to buy your vanilla beans? I see there are two different suppliers on Trade Me and I'm not sure if one is better than the other? Thanks Clareby Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk

Re: Has anyone designed a new kitchen? - 2 years ago
The things I love the most when designing our kitchen are 1. A tap that has a pull out nozzle to clean the sides and corners of the sink. 2. My corner cupboards are the Blum arrow shape drawers. Can get everything out as the drawers come out full length. 3. Platter drawer that has dividers so they stack upright - lets face it, you always want the platter at the bottom of the pile and a pain tby Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: Gas or Induction - 4 years ago
I changed from gas to induction and do love the induction but miss the gas for cooking a good steak. You can get hobs that are both gas and induction so this could be an option.by Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: Soy sauce - 4 years ago
I usually get the big Kikkoman soy but think I prefer the Yamasa brand as for taste.by Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk

Wonderful 2nd hand cookbook seller - 4 years ago
I recently bought 2 cookbooks from Twice Cooked and I am so happy with the books. The are 2nd hand but were in mint condition. The books arrived the next day and postage was only $5 regardless of the number of books bought which I thought was excellent. Highly recommend! Clareby Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk

Re: Terry Tea Towels - 5 years ago
I still have terry teatowels that I bought back in the early 80s from Woolworths when it was a variety shop not supermarket. Not the prettiest designs but excellent for the dishes. There are these on Trade Me . They do look thick too Clareby Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk

Re: Miele Steam Assist Oven - 5 years ago
I agree with Heather. Are you in Chch? Pop into Kitchen Things on Moorhouse Ave and talk to them as they are great, They also have people come in and do demonstrations so ask them when they are too.by Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: Milk weirdly solidifying when heated - 5 years ago
I have noticed that my light blue milk recently has a thick layer of hard cream at the top of the container. Only started happening for the last month or so. Still fresh too.by Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: Table etiquette - what do you do? - 5 years ago
Totally agree but also hate it when people start eating before the last person has been served!! This drives me insane.by Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: Walnuts - 6 years ago
I have found they are only bitter when they have a bright yellow or dark skin after shelling. I throw then out immediately. But generally the creamy or beige coloured walnuts are fine.by Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: Waffle shaped fries - 6 years ago
I got in contact with McCain and they only sell them commercially unfortunately. My Benrinner can't do waffle shapes but may have to do some investigating online though as the instructions are in Japanese! Thanks again everyone for your input too and glad you some of you are giving it a go on your slicers. Seems like a lot of work compared to if they would just sell them in the supermarketby Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk

Re: Josh Emmett Recipe - Potato Salad - 6 years ago
Hi I have PMed you as I can't add the recipe file here for some reason. You will need to email me (it's on the Private Message) and I will send it that way. If it isn't the right recipe, I'd suggest going to the library to get the books out - I think it was in the Backyard Barbecue bookby Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk

Re: Share the love annual by Annabel Langbein - 6 years ago
Do the share the love annabel langbein search on trade me and then hit the "save the search" and a reminder will be emailed to you if a book gets added for sale. You may get reminders of other random books but be patient. Other option is to email Annabel directly. She may have a copy lurking around in her warehouse. Good luck Clareby Clare - Foodlovers Food Talk
