Truffles that will keep - 14 years ago
Hi everyone, Ok I'm trying(!!!) to get organised for Christmas including gift bags for the kids teachers and I was wondering if anyone had a truffle recipe that doesn't have cream or cream cheese in it- just so I can make them a week or so ahead of time. I'm thinking of some old fashioned ones with dried fruit in them??? Thanks for your help Sallyby Sally - Foodlovers Food Talk

Long long ago in my youth I was on a Contiki tour and as we were driven around Gallipolli this song was played on the bus- very sombre group and very appropriate. I'm too much of a sook to listen to it nowadays!!!!by Sally - Foodlovers Non-Foodie Chat

If you think you are too little to be effective try being in bed with a mosquito (Anita Roddick founder of The Body Shop) What happens in life can make you a little bit bitter or a little bit better, its your choice Most folk are as happy as they make their minds up to be(Abraham Lincoln) Enjoy when you can, endure when you must When faced with two evils choose the one you haven't triby Sally - Foodlovers Non-Foodie Chat

Re: new recipes or tried and true? - 15 years ago
A couple of years ago in order to justify my ever increasing collection of cookbooks and cooking magazines(sound familiar!!) I made a New Years resolution to try a new recipe each week - and I had to start fresh each week too rather than try three new things one week and then have a fortnight off. Well I think it was the only New Years resolution I have EVER kept and I carried it over and still dby Sally - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: ANY IDEAS FOR FEELING BETTER !!!! - 15 years ago
I can justify answering this from work cos its sort of a nurse answer!!! REST REST REST!! Accept every bit of help that comes your way- this is not the time to be proud/stubborn/independent etc. Only do what has to be done. Eat lots of protein and finally stay in your nightie or pyjamas so that when people come to visit they do things for you cos you always look sicker if you are not up and dressby Sally - Foodlovers Non-Foodie Chat

The Cancer Society run the Domain Lodge right next to the Domain in Auckland and have lots of different sized rooms, at what I consider good prices- most of the bigger units have cooking facilities. there is free parking, it is really nice and clean, central without being smack in the middle of the city and helps support the Cancer Society- what more could you want!!
