Re: Freezing Pavlova - 8 years ago
I find that they freeze well and have kept them in freezer for a while. The trick is not to take them out of freezer too early as they might weep. I take out and decorate just before serving or if that not possible I roll paper towels and place round them to soak up the small amount of weeping and then they are fine. Hope this helpsby joy - Foodlovers Food Talk

Re: what to do with all these cherries - 8 years ago
Chris, a lot of growers went into growing cherries in bags, to limit their spread and they have them under cover as they hoped to export the fruit to Japan. The market died and the growers around here sold off their trees in the grower bags. That is what I have. The bags drain and you can feed them too. I pushed a few holes in my bag and dug a hole deep enough to half cover the bag. Put compost aby joy - Foodlovers Food Talk
Re: what to do with all these cherries - 8 years ago
IngridO I am in the South Island. We find they are easy to grow, late frosts can be a problem. Our cherry is a later one so we dont have that problem. The tree was one that is grown in a bag. I bought from people who had a cherry orchard, and retired. I left the tree in the bag and dug a hole and planted it. It has grown but is a nice size for me to manage because of the bag limiting it and it haby joy - Foodlovers Food Talk
