Freezing chopped onions

Freezing chopped onions

A while ago, I found some free flow frozen chopped onions, so bought some. When I got them home, read the back and it said made in China.

I did use them all up, and found them very handy, but didn't like the idea of them being made in China, so thought I'd create my own.

Except they just froze into a big blob.

Anybody know how to do this, to make them either free flow, or should I just freeze them into smaller blobs.

TIA.

Linda.

You just need to separate them (like on a tray) and freeze them that way first, then when frozen they can all go into a bag and will be free flow.

I quite often cook mine up & then freeze them & find that very handy. I put them into small packets of glad wrap, say 1 onion per bag.
