I was at a lunch with some friends and the talk turned to food - as it does at some stage. We reminisced over the dishes we made years ago and thought we were very avant garde.
Fondue
Shrimp cocktail
Hungarian Goulash
Ham steaks with pineapple
Mashed potatoes served with an ice cream scoop
Schnitzel (although we still have this)
Parfaits
Jelly set in moulds
What else?

You better believe it is flash Griz.....with hubby out of town for a few days, I asked the kitchen team if they would make me a cheese and onion sandwich to take home and pop into the toastie maker - nice easy tea.
Our meals as so flash they made my sandwich as a double decker! Woo hoo.
Laughing aside, I am so grateful to work for such generous employers - fresh scones and muffins every day for morning tea, club sandwiches and cake for afternoon tea, with fruit always available. We can also order a meal to take home. i,e, lamb shanks with gravy, roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and brocolli for $8.50. Who would buy takeaways when you can have that. The most consistent feedback we get from patients is about the beautifully cooked and presented food.
