Celebrating mothers day

Celebrating mothers day
May 06, 2011 03:39AM
Last year my family and I decided that there would be no gift giving, instead it is a day simply spent together, good food produced and shared. And a great day was had by all.

I am wondering am I the only one here who has taken the present buying out of mothers day and adapted it similarily.

We do cards and maybe home made food gifts but no purchased gifts. I agree that it is great to take the commercialism away from the celebration.

We have never done presents on Mother's or Father's day & my Kids aregrown up with their own children. We always thought time together is more important. All I want is a phone call from my Kids, all who live in other cities.

Every year I say I'd just like a sleep in smiling smiley Never quite seem to get it though - kids are too excited.
Miss6 has been making things at school (sshhhh its a secret and I'm not meant to know as she whispers to everyone in sundry standing next to me). Mr4 has made me something every day he's been at daycare for the last two weeks. Those are the precious things. Although......I have mentioned a lemon juicer would be handy!!

Yay, I got my lemon juicer! But best presents of all Mr4 scored his first goal at soccer (two in fact). I said I'd love a goal for a mothers day present and it was AWESOME. And Miss6 finally learnt how to tie her shoelaces. Two very proud children and a very proud Mum. Oh, and breakfast in bed. Bliss.
