I rarely go to the cinema and actually hardly ever watch films at all.
A week or so back I decided to surprise the boys (the girls are away at Uni) and booked tickets to Top Gun at the Lido in Auckland, followed by dinner at Sake Nippon Bar which is almost next door and then an ice cream stop at Duck Island.
Ed and Freddie couldn't quite believe that I would sit through Top Gun and I had very low expectations. The reality is though that I really enjoyed it, such a fun movie. I loved then going for dinner and ice cream was the best way to finish things off.
It was such a great adventure and as we went to a 4.30pm movie, we were home again by 8.
My resolution is to start doing this sort of thing more often and to have a more open mind.

By the way has anyone else seen the preview to Phantom of the Open? It may just be my next film adventure.
